Hi Marcel, I’m based in the UK, instead of using what we call a jubilee clip/ clamp, I’d like to use to same cable clamp that you used. Have you got the part number/ name/manufacturer/ supplier of the cable clamp that you used? Yours is better because the contacting face of the clamp is flat/even, but with the worm drive clamp/jubilee clip it’s not even and leaves a mark on the crimp ring. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks in anticipation.
Hi Peter, I bought this clamp 13 years ago at a local hydraulic equipment shop. I don't use it anymore as I have a professional crimping machine to crimp the rings. So I advice to visit a local shop that is specialized in hoses to fund such clamp.

In this case, I did not use a jig, just positioned the face plates with the laser. I have a self made jig now
How do you like the x6-2200l cnc machine so far? I've been reading and researching this model and thinking about buying one.
It is a great machine. Solid, works good, accurate, and not expensive. Much better than Stepcraft and much, much better than cheap chinese crap from Ebay. The OmioCNC service is good as well.

Hello, I would like to set up a speedometer on the Sandcast model. However, my speed is 72. Would you be grateful to know if it is possible to mount a velocimeter 72 inside a K0 gauge cover set? Right now, grateful
What material are you printing these in ?
In this case: polystyrene plastic plate, 2mm thick. But it also prints direct on other plastics, aluminium, wood, glass, leather, and so on.
I should've hold my thumb above the needle to avoid that the needle jumps away. So that is an additional tip.
If this works on a 2011, it will work on a 2012 as well.

can you tell the car to turn on the range extender and charge the battery after the battery drops below 30%?
The range extender starts automatically from 6.5% SOC. The non-US verison has the possibility to start the Rex from 75%. The Rex keeps the Soc and will only charge when the Soc drops far below the value when you turned the rex on
I am not an engineer, but I thought that if a battery is discharged like this, it will reduce the life span if the battery? For example, I was told to never completely discharged my cell phone; or over charging it.
wow0yunnies The i3 will manage that. There will always be a 'reserve' in the battery and also overcharging is not possible
So you are saying that 6.5% really means 20%?

Hi Arkadiusz, Why should you change the spring? Is it broken? The easiest way to to replace the spring is bij replacing the center shaft with spring from a donor bike. If you want to remove the spring, there is a big risk that you will damage the gauge
Hi again, Yes they are broken, i have 2 tachometer and 2 speedometer and all are damaged I meant springs, it's really difficult to find any parts for cb's in my country that the main reason why I'm asking and trying to fix it. Beste Marcel (ik had je eerst gemaild via het profiel van m'n dochter zag ik later) Je bent nu ruim 1.5 maand verder met de i3. Ben heel benieuwd naar je ervaringen met het apparaat. Valt de range anxiety mee? Voldoet ie in het dagelijks gebruik? Graag hoor ik van je, Groet, Rick Kirpestein
Sorry voor mijn late reactie, ik zie je vraag nu pas. Mijn ervaringen zijn super. Ik rij veel liever in deze auto dan in mijn plofauto. Range anxiety heb ik totaal geen last van omdat de range extender het overneemt bij een lege accu. Zo heb ik laatst een driedaagse trip naar Duitsland gemaakt van 1800 km en daarbij 32 liter benzine verstookt, de rest elektrisch. Totaal verbruik benzine is nu 51,35 liter op 11.910 km. Dat is 1: 232! De i3 is snel, comfortabel en zeer goedkoop om te rijden. De meeste ritten kan je elektrisch doen. Anders kan je verder op je benzine motor of je laadt snel even bij bij Fastned of The New Motion.
***** Gaaf om deze feedback te horen. Ik vind het een briljant concept! Laatst heb ik een week met de Demo Rex doorgebracht en dat voldeed prima, ook op langere ritten. Ik ben -helaas- nog steeds aan het wachten op levering. Wat heel erg tegenvalt is de BMW i sales organisatie en dan met name de support vanuit Duitsland. Vertragingen kunnen voorkomen, deze vertraging is een "moving target" waarbij men zich niet geroepen voelt om pro-actief info aan de klant te verstrekken. In mijn geval heb ik week 18 besteld, voor levering week 30. Uiteindelijk is de i3 geproduceerd in week 34/35. Vervolgens is het nog niet zeker of de auto in week 38 op kenteken kan komen...In de tussentijd heb ik nu een leenauto (kosteloos), alleen je wilt gewoon duidelijkheid, als klant behandeld worden i.p.v als productie nummer. Ik vind dat niet (!) kunnen. Een computer -geproduceerd in China- kun je per dag volgen en is er binnen een week, hoe kan het aflever proces vanuit Duitsland dan 3 weken in beslag nemen? Anyhow: frustratie! Hier levert BMW wat mij betreft een arrogante BMW onwaardige prestatie.

Heb er ook een gekocht en wacht nu op levering. Ik was erg onder de indruk van de adaptive cruis control maar zeker ook van alle innovatie in deze auto! Tot nu konden de energie maatschappijen innovaties vaak opkopen. De vernieuwing in batterij technologie gaat ze niet lukken omdat dat wordt getrokken door de "mobile technology" zoals smartphones en Ipads. De laatste 8 jaar is er op dat vlak meer ontwikkeld dan de 100 jaar ervoor. Kortom: dit is een doorbraak!
Leuk dat je er ook een gekocht hebt, je zult er geen spijt van krijgen!
Ben heel benieuwd hoe jouw gebruik is. Rijd je ook weleens lange afstanden of blijft het bij korte afstanden. Heb je er een met Rex?
Nikki Kirpestein Mijn langste afstand op een dag is 375 km met bijladen bij Fastned. Verder heb ik ritten gedaan van 2x 100 km, klein beetje op locatie bijladen en wat Rex km's (ik heb dus een Rex). Met een beetje plannen is alles goed te doen, zeker met een Rex

all these 3 videos are good, also showing how to take the needle out....great !!! H O W E V E R.................................one problem and it lies when we try and put the ring back on by crimping it with a screwdriver......this is a no go. i repeat.....its a NO GO.....the new chrome crimp is damaged by the screw driver because the crimping is inconsistent....there must be a better way. once the chrome ring is bent this way....there is no going back. it cant be fixed. and they are not cheap to buy.......hopefully marcel den butter can give us a better solution.
There is a better solution: buy a special tool or outsource it to me. I have such a tool as I close hundreds of these gauges each year. If you have to close a few, the 250 euros investment is too high. I said in this vid that the bottom side of the ring is not that proper, but that side will be covered by the rubber ring.

Nice, but the chainguard looks wrong, should be the short plastic one, and the red on-off switch on the RHS switchgear is wrong, should be black. So it has been played around with......Cant trust all them damn Yanks!!. :).
It is an transition model, a late K0, so it is quite normal that it has some K1 parts. Has nothing to do with "played around"
